Appraising & Buying Sleigh Bells

Appraisals

We regret that we do not do appraisals of the value of sleigh bells. We do not know anyone who specializes in appraising sleigh bells.

The best way to get a sense of the market value of your bells is to research the marketplace you intend to use when selling. If you want to sell the bells on eBay, for example, watch auctions for comparable bells on eBay and note the selling prices.

The prices you see in your chosen marketplace will not necessarily be accurate for any other marketplace, however -- or even for the same venue some months from now.

Market prices for sleigh bells vary, depending on how well the bells are marketed by the seller, the level of interest by the audience viewing the bells, the time of year the sale takes place, the overall state of the general economy, and who-knows-what other factors.

We buy bells

We buy North American and English sleighbells in reasonably good condition that were made in the early 1900s or earlier. Our primary interest is in the bells themselves, not the leather straps the bells may be on.

If you are a private seller with little experience at selling collectibles and antiques, please be aware that we buy bells only at wholesale prices for reuse in our business. Wholesale prices for antique sleigh bells are usually considerably less than the retail prices for bells on this website or in an antique store. If you need to sell your bells for retail prices, you should look elsewhere for a private collector.

If a wholesale transaction with honest, dependable people is acceptable to you, however, please contact us. Clear, closeup photos of the bells are important, so we can evaluate your bells to see if they fit our requirements. We will make a written offer to buy that includes reimbursement for reasonable shipping costs.
