This vintage display strap comes from a collector who is downsizing his collection. This piece is in excellent used condition.
The solid brass sleigh bells are antiques made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. The bells are clean and brightly polished. They have been lacquered to preserve the shine.
There are four #1 (1 1/8") bells, four #2 (1 1/4") bells, and one #3 (1 3/8") bell. The smaller bells are symmetrically arranged around the #3 bell in the center.
The medium-brown leather strap is clean, pliable, and in very good shape. The back is stamped with the maker's mark "Dennis A. Yoder, Custom Leather, Hamburg PA." Mr. Yoder opened his business in 1992 and passed away in 2010 (source), so the strap is somewhere between 10 and 30 years old.
The leather itself is about 20" long and 1 1/4" wide. Including the rings, the entire piece is just under 24" long. The solid-brass rings are clean but lightly oxidized for a soft look that blends with the leather. The largest ring is 2 1/2" wide on the outside and 2" wide on the inside. It may not slip over some door knobs.
