This black neck strap with 15 new solid-brass bells was adapted from design #44 sold by Starr Bros. Bell Co. in 1915. The bells evenly graduate from a small bell at each end to a large bell in the middle.
You can order the strap with a set of bells in one of three size groupings:
- Small set with #2 (1 1/4") bells at the ends and a #9 (2 1/8") center bell. The bells in this set are numbered #2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2.
- Medium set with #5 (1 5/8") bells at the ends and a #12 (2 1/2") center bell. The bells are numbered #5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5.
- Large set with #8 (2") bells at the ends and a #15 (2 7/8") center bell. The bells are numbered #8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8.
The strap is 1 1/2 inches wide and about 56 inches long from the buckle at one end to the tip of the billet at the other. When buckled, this strap will make a loop from 47 to 52 inches around to work as a neck strap for large ponies, cobs, and average "light" horses or as a body strap for small ponies.
Any Santa can carry this strap in hand to jingle as he walks. Families can jingle this strap on Christmas Eve or display it in the home during the holiday season.
We make each sturdy bell strap from black USA-tanned bridle leather. The strap has a full leather lining, so the backside of this piece is smooth leather to protect your horse and harness (or your wall or door). The lining, buckle, and "keeper loops" are all stitched for durability. We fasten the bells onto their strap with solid-brass bell pins. These pins are large, sturdy, and properly designed to see decades of use on horses.
Strap will be made with new solid-brass petal bells and buckle in a gold finish. More about our bells...
