These vintage horse brasses date to the mid-1900s. Most vintage brasses have never been worn by horses, so they show little or no wear, scratches, or other damage. They have been lightly polished by hand on the front, but are unpolished on the back.
Many mid-1900s brasses like these were cast with two-part sand molds and often the molds for vintage brasses were made using an antique brass as the master pattern. This means vintage brasses often look quite similar to antique brasses, but vintage brasses are usually not as crisply finished nor as finely detailed as antique brasses.
