Display strap, pinked edges, unlined, 4 bells

These four "round ridge" bells were originally on a fancy strap with brightly-colored binding stitched to the long edges of the strap. This edge binding was once very pretty and eye catching, but it is not very durable. By the time I see these straps, most or all of this binding is long gone and any binding that remains is badly faded and fragile.

The owner wanted me to recreate this fancy strap design, but we compromised on a less expensive and more durable solution -- using a pinking cutter to cut the edges of the strap in a zig-zag pattern. I darkened the solid brass hanging ring and all fasteners so they blend with the color of the cleaned (not polished) bells and the dark brown leather.

The strap is just over 15 inches long from the top of the ring to the lower tip of the leather strap. It is a little wider than usual -- about 2 inches -- to give this handful of four small bells a bolder look and also to show off the unusual edge finish.
