Laced strap with 23 graduated bells

This laced strap has 23 "petal" bells that date to the late 1800s and early 1900s. They graduate in size as follows: #2 (1 1/4") - #3 - #3 - #3 - #4 - #4 - #5 - #5 - #7 - #8 - #9 - #10 (2 1/4") - and back down to a #2 bell.

The lining strap and bell strap are laced together, an uncommon style used for some bell straps made in the early to mid 1800s. The finished bell strap is 1 1/2" wide and about 4 1/2 feet long from buckle to buckle.

A separate billet buckles onto the bell strap to complete the piece. Billets in a variety of lengths can be made to fit different horses. The 18 inch collar shown with this bell strap will fit many light horses and large ponies.
