No-nonsense sheath for a double-bitted axe is made from firm, durable bridle leather.
The stitched ends of the sheath have a welt (spacer) sandwiched between the front and back leather and small copper rivets at the mouth of the sheath. Both will help prevent the sharp axe blades from cutting the stitching.
The strong straps have a tiny bit of natural stretch to keep the sheath will stay firmly in place when the solid brass snaps are fastened. Please note: The sheath will be a bit stiff at first, but will break in nicely with use.
This design can be adapted to any large double- or single-bitted axe. Please use the "Notes" section to supply the overall width, length and thickness of the axe. Pictures or drawings would also be a great help.
