This strap was made with 20 "petal" bells and one open (liberty) bell. The bells date to the late 1800s or early 1900s.
There are #2 bells (1 1/4" across) at each end. The large pair of petal bells in the center of the strap are #15 (3 1/4"). The open bell in the middle is about 2 1/4" across at the mouth.
The strap is about 65" long and 1 1/2" wide. It is made of dark brown leather with a salvaged buckle. The metal dots between the bells are solid brass tubular rivets. They fasten the liner strap and bell strap together and also provide a decorative accent. Tubular rivets were often used on sleigh bell straps in the late 1800s.
