Sheath for a Leatherman™ "Wave" multitool made from Santa Ynez latigo.
This rustic design works well when made from a firm, pliable leather with a smooth, waxy finish, such as this latigo. The latigo will wear well, conform nicely to the tool, and get a "just right" aged look.
The flap on this sheath is designed so the tool can be withdrawn easily with one hand, but will not accidentally fall out. Please note: The flap will be a bit stiff at first, but will break in nicely with use.
The sheath flap features a decorative button knot. I leave the tassel below the button several inches long, so you can trim it to suit your tastes. (The tassel is trimmed fairly short in this example.)
This ingenious sheath design was created by Tom Triplett, a respected Montana horseman. This design can be adapted to any multitool or folding knife with a more-or-less rectangular shape. Please use the "Notes" section to supply the overall width, length and thickness of the tool, if it is not a Leatherman™ "Wave".
