Sheath belt-loop for Norwegian knife

A beautiful antique Norwegian knife and its "German silver" sheath needed some minor help. The owner asked me to design a new belt loop for the metal sheath to replace a poorly made, unattractive one.

I made the replacement belt loop from medium brown bridle leather with simple, crisp detailing. I wanted the belt loop to be well made but fairly plain, so it would be an unobtrusive backdrop to the ornate knife and sheath.

In addition to making the belt loop, I also carefully removed many years of accumulated gunk inside the sheath. This debris was corroding the tip of the blade and preventing the knife from seating fully in the sheath.
